A Glimpse into Vertical Blue, the Freediving Competition in the Bahamas. Ep. 174.5

Part II of our trip to Deans Blue Hole in the Bahamas for the freediving competition, Vertical Blue. We’re thrilled to have had the opportunity to checkout what goes on here each year and to become a part of this little freediving community for some time. They’re an interesting bunch of humans.

  1. Be cautious as free diving is a rather dangerous activity. An Australian free diver was consumed by a great white while free diving off the coast of Adelaide and a womens French world record-setting freediver named Audrey Mestre died while freediving in Dominica. There are about 5,000 professional free divers around the world, and an estimated 100 die each year.

    Are you guys ever going to sail the Mediterranean along the south coast of Turkey…? I know you were in Izmir years ago, but have not sailed the south coast.
