Sailing La Vagabonde’s Featured Artists

AAA+https://music.northnote.com/artists/a…

AAA+ is an Electro artist from Adelaide, Australia. His music is patient and moody, taking a down-tempo approach to a genre that often walks an eccentric pathway.

Melencholic, brooding vocals and lyrics sit nicely in a middle-ground of well produced electronic sounds and beats that lift songs well off the ground.

While beats pulse along nicely and feel comparable to bands like Bag Raiders and The Presets, AAA+ finds a comfortable space and reigns songs in with his calm, entrancing vocal track.

Bay Station Band – https://baystationband.bandcamp.com/

Californian based Bay Station Band blend sounds from Americana, blues, jazz and rock and roll.

Their energy moves between imagery of a hot summer day at the beach and open-mic pub ballads, Shifting along the musical spectrum keeps listening enjoyably unpredictable.

Bay Station writes appealing lyrics, relatable stories from everyday life. Stories of fun, poetry and heartbreak.

East Love – https://open.spotify.com/artist/0xGSN…

Sing-along Indie pop-rock that is equal parts delightfully sweet and emotionally developed. East Love reach a huge audience by writing fun songs that carry deeper meanings.

Tight musical production and boyband-esque vocal harmonies follow pleasantly relaxed song structers, arriving upon a climax of uplifting choruses.

East Love certainly help in reviving the indie-pop genre as they create a balanced diet of talented pop sweetness.

Grenan Dawley – https://open.spotify.com/artist/4AgfB…

Talented Perth five-piece Grenan Dawley produce silky smooth indie music that drifts around jazz, blues & rock sensabilities.

Their focussed ensemble gels fluidly; tightly bound by interpersonal chemistry and well developed musical capacity. Elements of their merged sound often diverge from the collective to showcase individual chops.

Grenan Dawley lean
toward a wonderfully quirky, intelligent sound. Lyrics brim with clever metaphors, laced inside memorable soliloquies.

LAIKIPIA – https://www.youtube.com/c/laikipiamusic

LAIKIPIA are a duo that disregard the conventional, generic rules of music. Their sound is a rabbit hole of auditory stimulation, welcoming minds and ears to expand.

Musically LAIKIPIA alchemise an ecclectic combination of sounds, pinching from electronica, folk, hiphop, Caribbean and African chorus among many more. The result set against tantalising, perfect harmonies, creates a unique listening experience.

Lakey Inspired – https://soundcloud.com/lakeyinspired/…

Lakey Inspired is a music producer creating sounds that personify the American state of California.

Chilled trap beats set on deep sub-bass provide a footing for melodic frequencies to bloom. Foundational sounds repeat in a trance, while textured elements swirl around effortlessly.

Beachside vibes with the hot Californian sun run rampant, vivid images of last summer come to mind.

Adam Yoohttps://soundcloud.com/adamyoo_music

Hailing from Canada, Adam creates a relaxed, mellow vibe that’s easy to daydream along to.

Low-key chill out music floats seductively around the room with each slap of the guitar, vocals heavy with reverb, simple, catchy melodies sublimely distracting.

Although he hasn’t released new material in a year, his SoundCloud page sits with thousands of listens and comments from his active and ever growing fan-base.

In 2016 he released his debut EP, DReAMS, available on BandCamp for purchase. The title track taking you to the beach, the sound of seagulls and waves crashing in the background, while Adam nonchalantly slaps his guitar.

Andrew Rothschild – https://soundcloud.com/aroth

Andrew Rothschild creates a kaleidoscopes of layers in his music, taking you through the forest and down the rabbit hole where the conventional rules of music don’t exist.

Changing timing-signatures and spooky guitar resonates against an unpredictable drum beat, somehow resurfacing from the depths of psychadelia to make sense.

A Bluestronica fore-runner to keep an eye on and an ear to the ground for, his 2018 release ‘Transitions’ can be found in full on his SoundCloud and now Spotify.

Duncan Saige – https://www.facebook.com/duncansaige

Critically acclaimed and well toured, Duncan Saige is beginning to headline the rotation of a plethora of live gigging venues everywhere.

His infectiously positive attitude, exciting stage presence and catchy songs are only the starts of a long list of talking points. Match these characteristics with a genuinely good guy and a star is born.

Featuring regularly on Australian radio station juggernaut ‘Triple J’, playing big name gigs and scoring the video of brand names like Billabong is on the list of a long line of achievements.

Martin Piehlmeier – www.martinpiehlmeier.com

Piehlmeier is a guitarist who likes to strum, pick, slaps and beat his way through impressively complex songs.

His music is instrumental and produced from a single guitar, it is unbelievable when experiencing the broad range of sounds.

Pacing his way through several different moods in every song, each turn of a corner is another practice in guesswork, wondering where Martin will take you through his imagination.

Micheal Dunstan – https://www.facebook.com/mdunstanmusic

Michael Dunstan writes intricate, pensive roots and folk music inspired by Western Australia’s rugged coastline and sparse, beautiful outback.

Having spent most of his upbringing in regional Australia, his style has developed to characterise that of his environment, laid back and relaxed.

Michael released his EP ‘Solace’ in January 2017 which sent him on a tour of most of Western Australia, including performing with folk legend Ziggy Alberts on the Perth leg. The talented 21-year-old has spiked in recent months from 20,000 to over 70,000 monthly hits on Spotify and it’s only early days.

SEAWAVES – https://www.facebook.com/seawavesoffi…

Ethereal soundscapes dotted with synthesised beats and interesting electronic lace is just a facet of the  SEAWAVES appeal.

The Duo from Manchester in the UK are workhorses, constantly pumping out massive dream-pop art. The textures they create have lead them to working with the likes of Walt Disney Pictures, Hollister Co, Sony and Adidas.

The payoff of their hard work is a well deserved biproduct of excellent musical composition.

CRUISE SHIPS. 7 Reasons NOT to go!

7 Reasons why NOT to go on a cruise ship. We could think of a dozen more reasons why not to go on a cruise ship but we thought we’d try and keep it short (plus it was about 10000 degrees inside La Vagabonde with no air conditioning… maybe that’s ONE plus to going on a cruise ship ?). *It should be noted that there is a time and place for cruise ships and if you prefer to travel with ease and comfort, do it. Each to their own. This is just our opinion on the whole matter.* We feel really lucky to not have to have leaned towards the dark side in representing a cruise ship line, which is the opposite of what we’re about. So a big thanks to our patrons for helping us stay independent and to each and every one of you for the support. We hope you like this one… Love Elayna and Riley.

Our Sailing Trip in Florida Ep. 164

Join us for our sailing trip in Florida with myself, Riles, and our bunch of new friends. A freediving lesson for these guys was a must, and we also couldn’t let them leave without tasting some Vegemite. We spend some time exploring what Miami has to offer and we were stoked to find some hidden gems. Also, a few of our patrons give you a tour of their own sail boats! I hope you enjoy this one guys. Elayna and Riley. ?. Ps don’t forget to checkout Christian and Ariana’s channel https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxS3…

So, the boats due for a clean out.. Ep. 165

It’s been a good year since we’ve paid any REAL attention to La Vagabonde. Besides polishing the stainless, scraping the bottom when she gets a little molluscy and maintaining our equipment onboard, she’s usually keeps things fairly easy for us. But we are in need of a few installations and we are due for a new coat of antifouling. We decide to sail up the coast to Just Catamarans, a place well known for it’s legendary team and fast service. https://justcatamarans.net We now have FANS YOU GUYS. There is a proper fan, in my room. Looking forward to the haul out in the coming days. Ps. here is my fish recipe!! https://sailing-lavagabonde.com/so-th…
