Massive Music (Episode 95)

Welcome to the niche musical section of SLV, where we put the spotlight onto the artists whose music can be heard playing against the SLV videos. We absolutely love the music we’re lucky enough to play on the show and hope you like it too. Our goal is to help give the artists featured some exposure to a wider audience, an audience with which we already share a lot in common! (hopefully music taste as well) I mean we all love looking at a school of massive tuna right? If you haven’t seen that, the episode is available here and its a goody:

That is some seriously impressive footage. Each week we compile the songs into a Soundcloud playlist and post it here and on our account. Feel free to add us for updates about the newest music we’ve featured and to check out the pages of the artists, leave a like, share or a comment and follow their social pages for details about buying tracks and tour info.

Odd Sockshttps://soundcloud.com/odd_socks_offi…

Francis Kershaw is striving to be the ultimate multi-instrumentalist and is doing a great job in the process. Recording a jumpy and refreshing style of indie-rock from his bedroom, Odd Socks has been churning out great songs on a budget. His songs are awesome quality and have even been featured on the BBC and now on this weeks episode of SLV.

Julia R. Andersonhttps://soundcloud.com/julia-r-anderson

Australian indie artist Julia R. Anderson loves her reverb, and thats great because its a love affair she has mastered. Music that is interesting and quirky, bordering on a sweat drenched t-shirt at a music festival, and an intimate hangout next to a fire. Either way the sounds keep you interested.

MaJLohttps://www.facebook.com/MaJLomusic

MaJLo’s striking vocal harmonies and multi-instrumental mastery make for an effortlessly enjoyable musical experience. Originally trained as a jazz musician, MaJLo successfully combines genres such as pop, indie and electronic sounds to meld into his own fascinating mixture of ear candy. At times sparse, at other times dense, at all times interesting, MaJLo is fast becoming a favourite of mine to chill out with.

Porch Guitar – https://www.facebook.com/porchguitar

Tom Owens aka Porch Guitar is a favourite here on SLV, his lo-fi improvisational style of guitar playing is a delight to listen to. The name Porch Guitar rings very true,

Tom says, “Guitar Improv on the front porch. Structured as it happens. Sounds of nature. Cars go by. Neighbors wave. Yeah..”

As you hear the music this kind of scene is very easy to imagine, a park out the front, the sounds of birds chirping, and of course Tom noodling away on his front porch.

Thats it for this week, thanks for stopping by and checking out the talent behind the music. If you would like any more info, are an artist or know a musician who makes music that might fit the show, drop me a line at lavagabondemusic@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you. Otherwise please help us support the artists featured here, tell your friends, family and co-workers. I honestly love putting on an SLV playlist and drawing something, or walking the dog etc. Try it out!

All the best Vagabonds,

until next week,

SLVM
