Abandoned Mine Ruins on a DESERTED ISLAND! (Sailing La Vagabonde) Ep. 152
We sailed to Sombrero island, the most interesting deserted island with ruins dating back to the 1800’s. Sleeping on anchor with the sounds of all the birds was other worldly. Definitely worth a visit if you ever get the chance!!
Freediving an Uninhabited Island Ep. 153
Freediving, lost in the depths of the uninhabited Sombrero Island..Join us as we set the sails for the open ocean once again on our way to a new country. We have 3-4 days at sea ahead of us and we’ve never been more thrilled about it. Congratulations to our patrons Jessica Whale and Emilie Thomsen! Sailing La Vagabonde’s Featured Artists
AKW – http://akwband.com
Spacious musical arrangements are typical of AKW’s tracks, leaving ample room for Alex’s signature elegant vocals. Emotive crescendos ebb and flow throughout the tracks, sensibly placed for climactic effect.
Reverberated tones float through arrangements, serving for a dream-like space facilitating contemplation. Alex’s poetry is formed in a similar sense, introspective, reassuring and revealing.
Earnest to the core, AKW seemingly siphons emotion from within the listener.
Cog Shift – https://soundcloud.com/cog_shift
Cog Shift is an ambient electronic outfit that treads along the genre’s audio-sonic borders nonchalantly.
Most of the tracks available are of the chill, ambient, lounge vibe and there are gems within for everyone.
Amidst the spectrum of sounds heard in any given song by Cog Shift is the hand-pan, flutes, guitar, keys, samples and electronically produced beats. The mix is pleasing and is something to relax with.
Duncan Saige – https://www.facebook.com/duncansaige
Critically acclaimed and well toured, Duncan Saige is beginning to headline the rotation of a plethora of live gigging venues everywhere.
His infectiously positive attitude, exciting stage presence and catchy songs are only the starts of a long list of talking points. Match these characteristics with a genuinely good guy and a star is born.
Featuring regularly on Australian radio station juggernaut ‘Triple J’, playing big name gigs and scoring the video of brand names like Billabong is on the list of a long line of achievements.
Grekon – https://soundcloud.com/grekon
Ambient electronica is the mantlepiece of Grekon, laying a foundation of mystery and wonder with otherworldly, expansive soundscapes.
Pulsing, futuristic sounds are knitted into the fabric of each song. At times a chaotic, industrial clang of sorts, else a trip through the universe of alpha-waves.
Songs are lyricless for the most part, leaving room for haunting wails or chanting and a lot of space for binaural beats to envelop.
This Modern Hope – https://www.thismodernhope.com
Alternative rockers This Modern Hope leave their reverberated mark on the ears of many. Soulful vocals and a generally pensive mood allow for a smooth listening experience.
The instrumentalism is notable, each member of the band bringing their unique flavour to the whole.
Sounds capture a likening to Death Cab for Cutie, City and Colour and perhaps a splash of Oasis for good measure.
Cat Clyde – http://catclyde.lnk.to/ic
Cat Clyde’s seductively smooth voice conjures thoughts of a wild western saloon bar, complete with tumbleweed, bar fight and burlesque.
Insanely enjoyable music drives this scene, the slide guitar telling its tales of misfortune against the pulse of a drumbeat that may inspire mediocre air drumming attempts.
Follow the link above to check out her nothing-short-of-epic album, ‘Ivory Castanets’.
Fai Rynita – https://soundcloud.com/fai-rynita
“Fai is an Indie singer-songwriter from the Byron Bay hinterland who has been developing her craft since childhood. At age 13 she taught herself to play the guitar and soon enough began writing her own songs.
Influenced by such legends as Elliott Smith, Kate Bush, Dolly Parton, The White Stripes, The Beatles and The Cure what you get with Fai is intimate, folk-tinged songs that are bursting with quality from the first note to the final haunting chord.”
Jack and the Weatherman – www.jackandtheweatherman.nl
Silky smooth melodies and thought-provoking lyrics underpin each song from JATWM.
The acoustic prodigies from the Netherlands deliver wonderfully arranged, easy-to-follow songs that keep your foot tapping to the beat of the tambourine.
Having released their latest full-length album this year, ‘The Lucky Ones’, the duo are consistently selling out venues all over Europe. Check the socials for updates about these workhorses.
Jamie Rose – https://open.spotify.com/artist/3IPL3…
This is downtempo and low-key R&B, ‘trap-esque’ music to be loved or at least danced to.
The well produced electronic beats are silky smooth, while Jamie sings with an unfazed, nonchalant but cool and mostly pop sound.
The overall feel is sweet sounding, while the content of most of the songs is based on relationships, social issues and other modern themes.
Jordan Prince – www.jordanprincetunes.com
Hailing from one of the world’s most musically inspired cities – New Orleans, Jordan took his talents across the Atlantic Ocean.
He ventured all the way to Europe, steadily carving a name for himself into the steins and hearts of Germany’s people.
Critically acclaimed, he has continued to flourish in his new environment with a hectic touring schedule and plans for a new concept album due in 2018.
“Jordan Prince is currently working on his new album, and because the people from his life are such a strong motor behind his writing, this will be a concept album: each of the twelve planned songs will be about a single, important person whose friendship changed his life. The album is officially to be released in 2018 with a new tour.”
Samuel Scott McCumber – https://soundcloud.com/samuelscottmcc…
Samuel Scott McCumber seems to employ a time-tested method when penning songs; write a story, write good music, put them together.
Utterly enjoyable, McCumber’s songs shine with clever and humorous lyricism, relatable and introspective depth.
Storytelling aside, his music is well produced, the acoustic guitar cutting through with a mellow, smooth tone.
