Cinders – www.https://Facebook.com/cindersmusic

Cinders is a six-piece outfit formed by high school friends, from Salt Lake City in the U.S.

Described as “rowdy acoustic pop”, the lines between pop, indie and punk are blurred; live shows explode with frenetic energy fed between members of the group.

Cinders write music that floats around chill melodies and pleasing acoustic guitar, before crashing into a gloriously energetic wave of group shouts and driving rock tempo.

Garden Island – https://gardenisland.bandcamp.com/album/blunder-years

Garden Island bring grunge sounds and a psychedelic zombie-haze feeling from Perth, Western Australia.

The four-piece alt-rock band recount the failures and growth arising from the ‘coming of age’ experience. Despite their veneer of groaning angst, the group deliver an introspective underlying narrative.

The crashing, unvarnished rumination of Garden Island is gaining traction in the local scene, as the band is gaining radio air-time and gigging around Perth.

Honey Houndshttps://open.spotify.com/artist/2gBYe3dJe0NroE6tej4XnP

Honey Hounds are a Blues trio from Jacksonville in Florida, U.S.A. adding their own contemporary spin to the genre.

The group have incorporated the spirit of Blues wholly into their lifestyle, not only echoing the timeless sound but embodying the image and attitude of its legacy.

The music itself meanders a blend of Blues and Funk, the combination calcified by a springing drum beat, scrumptious harmonica solos and grooving guitar rhythms.

Joe Kaplowhttp://joekaplow.net

Joe Kaplow is a singer/songwriter from Santa Cruz in the U.S.A. who spends his days writing earnest, folk and blues-inspired stories.

Kaplow has a talent for sensitively building tension in his songs, the intonation of sonic stimuli reflecting the raw emotion described through the lyrics.

Joe’s 2019 debut EP ‘Time Spent in Between’, is a peek into a life of travel, relationships, cathartic musings of the past and self-reflection.

Lachlan Ross – https://Lachlanrossvisuals.com

Lachlan Ross is a young creative from the beautiful coastline of South-West Australia, who writes and records acoustic music.

Ross’s 2018 single ‘City Lights’ is a sombre take on thoughts of departure from current circumstances and feelings of helplessness, revived by the hope of being home soon.

Ross’s energy aligns with that of friends like Ziggy Alberts and past SLV contributors Michael Dunstan and Jordy Maxwell.

Circlelight – https://soundcloud.com/circlelight

Circlelight underwent an overhaul in 2018, with new songs and a new approach to writing, taking the band in a direction more conducive with their values and ethos.

As an added bonus, their 2019 album ‘Ties and Struts’ is a well produced slice of musical-chill heaven.

Airy and expansive music floats and allows for contemplation. The musicianship is humble and allows Emanuel’s vocal to thread and play thoughout each song.

Fai Rynita – https://soundcloud.com/fai-rynita F

Fai’s music has a classic feel to it, often presented in a lo-fi format that creates a warm and familiar vibe.

Adding to that vibe is a sense of intimacy. Her tracks sound delicate, like the softness of a whisper.

Rynita’s tracks range from skillful solo guitar arrangements to meaningful ballads. The beauty and mood conveyed through her songs are a testament to many years of hard work and patience.

Jack and the Weatherman – https://www.jackandtheweatherman.nl

Silky smooth melodies and thought-provoking lyrics underpin each song from JATWM.

The acoustic prodigies from the Netherlands deliver wonderfully arranged, melodic songs that keep your foot tapping to the beat of the tambourine.

The duo are consistently selling out venues all over Europe and the release of their newest single ‘Flying’ is set to continue the trend. Check the socials for updates about these workhorses.

Jimmy Pinch – https://jimmypinch.bandcamp.com

Jimmy Pinch writes an experimental style of alternative rock.

Songs are characterised by the voice of a down-tuned electric guitar, speaking above the crash of jazz-style drums and a walking bass line.

Although nodding to the darker spectrum of music, an ethereal side of consciousness is revealed when given the chance.

Listen in for layers of chaotic guitar voicing that throw so, so much shade and takes you into Jimmy’s deep lair of music.

Jordan Merrick – https://jordanmerrick.bandcamp.com/

Jordan Merrick is a Blues/Americana singer-songwriter from Brisbane, Australia, who writes infectious and melodic campfire ballads.

The winner of multiple awards including ‘Songwriter of the year’ and ‘Song of the year’ at the Gold Coast Music Festival, Merrick remains humble, quietly crafting a new album due for release soon and living off the land.

Jordan’s ballads are an inspiring take on hope, compassion and perseverance through difficult times, set against brilliant musicianship.

Luis Trinidad – https://luistrindade.bandcamp.com

A wonderful melancholic resonance underpins Luís Trindade’s method, murmuring heartfelt words along the ebb and flow of rhythmic guitar.

An independent artist, Luís’ music exists only in the digital realm. He garners an impressive online following with beautiful, meaningful music.

Luis’ latest offering, ‘Can You See This Darkness’ is available on his Bandcamp webpage and is definitely worth a listen, check it out!

“If you like my music please support me, you can download my LP at bandcamp, or through a donation to luistrindade83@gmail.com. I don’t have a label, so my music exists only in digital editions. Thanks for the visit and for giving a listen to my music.”

Sense –  https://soundcloud.com/sense-band

Sounding similar to the likes of Kygo and Odesza, Sense deliver their own brand of refreshing electro-funk and succeed in awakening the spirit of those with ‘wanderlust’.

Going from very relaxed tracks like “Senegal” (featured in this weeks episode of SLV) to dance floor anthems in the same breath is a challenge for any musician, however Sense manage to do so effortlessly. Follow the link above to listen to their brand new EP, ‘Esper’, it’s electro-pop musings are very, very, nice.

Siren’s Sky –  http://sirenssky.wixsite.com/sirens-sky

Siren’s Sky is the project of guitar player/songwriter Herbert Kaptein from The Netherlands.

The project features music written by Kaptein, featuring the vocals of exclusively female artists.

Many of Siren’s Sky songs have a dreamy sound, with heavy reverb and drawn out vocals.

Thank you to all of our featured artists, your music is such an important part of SLV and we are so happy to have you onboard.

Stay safe, stay healthy and stay happy.
